Full length pre-tapered battens suitable for Trailer Sailers and club racers to 28ft. Made from 15mm wide ribless V.E. Waverider 2 & 3 range. STD tapers are 40% special tapers on request. Choose tips from Blanks, V-locks, spades or triangles. Full length pre-tapered battens suitable for IMS & P.H.R.F. boats - multi hulls and cruisers/racers to 60ft. Made from double durability vinylester in profiles 1-5 of the Ocean Racer series, which is 20mm wide.
Please phone or fax full information when ordering - specify boat type & length, sail & rig type, batten lengths starting from the peak preferable in mm overall including the tips. Triangle tips can be specified, standard tapers are 40%, special tapers on request.		 Amazon is the new maxi full batten with amazing stiffness for weight (50% stiffer than OR5) yet is fully shape-able on our computer controlled tapering machine.

This is the ultimate lightweight full batten, the racing batten for all skiff and dinghy classes.
Dinghy Full Battens are constructed from durable 100% vinylester resin. E-class fibres and the proprietary X-20 cross linking agent which enhances transverse strenght.
The result is legendary durability and maximum stiffness for weight. The HEX, Rod and Cruciform profiles are engineered structures designed for optimum stiffness/weight/durability.

The factory pretapered range is available in four stiffnesses.
Light - Recommended for dinghys and small centreboarders. Drive point 45%.
Medium - Recommended for smaller catamarans, skiffs and larger centreboarders. Drive point 40%.
Stiff -Recommended for 16 foot skiffs and medium sized catamarans. Drive point 40%.
Extra Stiff - Recommended for 18 foot skiffs and catamarans to 25 feet. Drive point 40%.

When ordering finished sets please specify boat type & length, sail & rig type, batten length starting from the peak - preferably in mm overall including the tips - please allow 50mm on pocket length & specify tip type.

Dinghy Full Batten Range is based on HEX profiles, except *stiff/ x-stiff battens which are available either tapered 10mm round rod or crusiform (gauge) profiles.

The HEX Profiles have a durability advantage because of the designed flat surfaces which handle flexural stresses over a wider area.

10mm Rod is a good choice for uniformity, but the tapered portion of the batten will carry the flexible loading better than untapered portion.

Gauge (Cruciform) should be specified if a weight saving of approx. 8% over 10mm rod is desired.

It is not necessary to specify gauge type or Hex profile number in this pretapered range - stiffness is predetermined. (See the LBS columns in the table above).
