Tip Fitting Instructions
File the last 20mm of the batten end to fit the opening in the tip. In the case of cruciform profile battens, chamfer 40mm of the rib back to prevent splitting of the batten under stress. The tip should bea snug tap fit although an epoxy glue can be used for an absolutely secure fit.
For V-Lock or Multi-Lock tips where tensioning device is to be used, batten lengths including tips should be approximately 50mm longer than the sail pocket.
Battens can be cut using a hacksaw.
